SUMMARY:Transgenerational Reparenting and Re-scripting in Schema Therapy
DESCRIPTION:Rakhawy Institute for Training and Research (RITR)\nInternational Society for Schema Therapy (ISST)\nSchema Therapy Institute East Switzerland (ISTOS)\nONLINE Workshop \n𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐞: August 31, 2024\n𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm\n𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫: H. Alp Kara Osmanoğlu, M.D\nABOUT WORKSHOP:\nIn this workshop, we will explore a new schema model informed by polyvagal theory. We will demonstrate how using a transgenerational approach for example in imagery work can benefit clients more effectively than simply “removing the antagonist.”\nThe “Transgenerational Reparenting” technique addresses situations where a parent’s cooperation is absent by leveraging the support of grandparents. This approach significantly enhances the rescripting of reference memories, supporting the Vulnerable Child within the parent for more impactful and fruitful outcomes.\nAdditionally, we have integrated the ‘Re-Growth’ technique, traditionally used in Gestalt therapy and Ericksonian hypnotherapy, into our rescripting method. Our specialized Spiral Re-growth technique reshapes the client’s history up to the present, enabling a broader skillset in response to schema-triggering situations. This approach supports the Vulnerable Child emotionally and uses the power of imagination to rewrite subsequent years, enhancing the client’s behavioral repertoire.\nThe 4-hour online Zoom workshop will begin with a theoretical foundation based on clinical experience and scientific research, followed by practical applications and exercises to impart these techniques.\n𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭:\n𝐇.
