About the Instructor:
H. Alp Karaosmanoğlu, M.D. psychiatrist, psychotherapist, founder of PsikoNET Publishing and Training Center. ISST certified advanced level Schema Therapist and trainer.
Alp works as a psychiatrist and a psychotherapist in Istanbul. In 2006 he organized a symposium in Istanbul with Jeffrey Young which contributed a lot for this therapy technique to get well- known in Turkey.

* An overview of therapeutic strategies
* Therapeutic relationship: Being a Schema Therapist
* Schemas, Coping Styles, and Modes
* Assessment: including interviews, imagery, and inventories
* Psycho-education about needs and rights of children
* Temperamental Factors Clarifying Goals & Needs
* Conceptualizing a Case in Schema Terms and/or modes

Module 2: Cognitive techniques Experiential techniques

* Application of cognitive techniques
* Using flash cards-schema diary
* Imagery & imagery re-scripting
* Linking schemas with early childhood experiences
* Limited re-parenting with Child modes, especially with the Vulnerable and Angry Child modes
* Confronting maladaptive Coping Modes, Parent modes

Second Training: 20-21 May, 2023

Module 3: Behavioral Techniques Therapy Relationship

* Coping styles
* Defining targets of change
Prioritizing problem behaviors for pattern-breaking
* Using flash cards, imagery, role-play and homework assignments
* Overcoming blocks to behavioral change

Module 4: Schema Mode Work with Personality Disorders

* Limited re-parenting
* Empathic confrontation
* Limit setting
* Therapists schemas: Dealing with obstacles in treatment when therapists’
schemas become activated with certain types of patients
* Appropriate use of self-disclosure
Cluster C-clients like:
* Avoidant personality disorder
* Obsessive compulsive personality disorder
