About the Training program:
The phase of adolescence with the associated somatic, psychological and social changes offers the human being a “second Chance”.
From the sociological point of view, the adolescence is the time of transition from being an emotionally dependent family member to become an active and co-creative part of the socio- cultural space of the society. The peer group allows and helps as a “secondary group” or an “agent for inculturalisation” this transition.
The importance of the peers for relationships and points of reference increases significantly in early adolescence. Thus, young people themselves are more and more responsible in their groups to construct a safe place where they can make new attachment experiences and facilitate new exploration. Thus, the group is influencing the individual development, as the individual is affecting the matrix of the group.
From a development-psychological point of view, this means that particularly in this age the work in groups represents an important therapy and intervention form, thus being very different from the work with children or adults in groups.
To conduct and accompany professionally the educational or therapeutic process of groups of young people, it is essential to understand the complexities of developmental psychology, attachment theory and group dynamics in order to perform interventions adequately and effectively.
The Psychodrama, in particular the Sociometry and the Sociodrama, offers a wide range of possibilities for interventions, which enrich the educational and therapeutic work with groups in this specific developmental phase.
This training starts with an orientation and overview about the peculiarities of adolescents and the most important theories and aspects in conducting groups of adolescents. (the first 30 hrs).
The next 120 hrs. will be separated in four modules called “Forming”, the Beginning of the group. “Storming”: The individual in the group, “Norming”: group dynamics and self-regulation in groups, and “Performing”: The working on stage and personal growth in ongoing groups.
The formation is based on theoretical inputs about the age-related theories and models, self-experience of the own inner adolescent with the rich variety of methods and techniques and active training to conduct groups.
This formation is project orientated and invites from the beginning to plan and develop in subgroups specific group settings in which the participants are or will be working.
Target group:
Professionals who work or plan to work pedagogically or therapeutically with adolescents in groups. They will learn to apply the method within their own professional competence. Some self experience in Psychodrama is an advantage, but not an obligation, but should at least accompany the training.
Supervision aspects of existing groups can be touched, but this is not an integral part of this training
